Explosion-Proof 3D Laser Scanning
We provide advanced 3D laser scanning services using the Z+F IMAGER® 5006EX, the world’s first ATEX-certified explosion-proof laser scanner. Designed for use in Zone 1 hazardous areas, this solution is ideal for applications in the marine, oil & gas, and offshore sectors – including LNG terminals, FPSOs, tankers, refineries, and other environments with a risk of explosion.
With a scanning range of up to 79 meters, ultra-fast data capture (up to 1 million points per second), and millimeter-level precision, the Z+F 5006EX produces dense and highly accurate 3D point clouds – even in confined, complex, or explosive environments. Its rugged and certified design ensures safe operation where conventional scanning equipment cannot be used.
Combining cutting-edge technology with experienced offshore technicians, we deliver safe, efficient, and precise data capture in the most challenging environments – helping you minimize downtime, ensure compliance, and optimize asset integrity.
Dry dock arrangement; Docking 3D simulations
Block arrangement is planned and verified using advanced 3D laser scanning technology, enabling rapid and highly accurate capture of actual dry dock conditions. Within a short timeframe, we deliver comprehensive verification of block positioning, including detailed deviation analysis in all three coordinate axes (X, Y, Z), precise dock floor levelness assessment, and support for achieving an even keel condition.
Based on the acquired data, we perform ship level optimization to ensure correct trim and alignment during landing, minimizing structural stresses and enabling uniform load distribution along the keel blocks. In addition, we develop advanced hull landing simulations, providing a reliable basis for optimal block arrangement, improved safety, and efficient docking operations.
3D Scanning for Confined Spaces
Using terrestrial 3D laser scanners, we perform fast and accurate capture of cargo and ballast tank geometry on oil and chemical tankers, as well as complex areas such as the bulbous bow.
The high-resolution point cloud reflects the true as-built condition, enabling reliable retrofit planning, precise equipment integration, and optimized structural solutions. At the same time, the need for physical inspections in hazardous confined spaces is significantly reduced, improving safety and lowering project risks and costs.
3D scanning is therefore a key enabler for efficient vessel modernization and maintenance.
Ship Hull 3D Scanning
Using terrestrial 3D laser scanners, we deliver fast and highly accurate capture of ship hull geometry, including complex curved surfaces and critical areas such as the bulbous bow.
The resulting high-resolution point cloud provides a true representation of the as-built condition, supporting precise retrofit planning, deformation analysis, integration of new structural elements or coatings, buoyancy and stability analyses, preparation of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) models, as well as optimized drydock arrangement and planning. This enables improved hydrodynamic performance, better fit-up during repairs, and reduced risk of errors, rework, and downtime.
3D scanning of ship hulls is a powerful tool for efficient maintenance, inspection, and overall vessel lifecycle optimization.
3D scanning and ship Survey for EGCS retrofit
We provide high-precision 3D laser scanning and onboard ship surveys to support EGCS retrofit projects. Our digital as-built models help engineers plan accurate system integration, detect clashes early, and optimize installation design.
By capturing exact vessel conditions, we reduce retrofit risks, minimize downtime, and improve coordination between shipowners, designers, and shipyards. Our data ensures efficient planning and smooth compliance with regulatory requirements.
We have successfully completed more than 200 such projects worldwide, delivering proven experience and reliable results for complex retrofit operations.
