At BIMING, we provide 3D laser scanning services for a wide range of industrial facilities, including refineries, energy plants, chemical and process facilities, warehouses, mines, factories, and machine shops. Utilizing modern 3D laser scanners with extended range capabilities, we ensure precise measurements. Additionally, we are equipped to operate in hazardous environments with certified ATEX equipment, allowing us to conduct measurements even in explosion-risk areas. With a large fleet of 3D scanners and years of expertise, we deliver high-quality results quickly, minimizing or even eliminating disruptions to operational processes.
Our services are utilized in the following design phases:
- Reconstructions and modifications
- Installation or replacement of equipment
- Reverse engineering
- Collision detection and analysis
- Transport simulation
- P&ID documentation development
In collaboration with our partners, we convert 3D scans into 2D plans, 3D models, BIM models, P&ID schemes, and provide deviation and collision analyses. We work with a variety of software tools, including Revit, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Inventor, Plant3D, Aveva, Cadmatic, Bentley, Rhino, and more.
3D Laser Scanning: Products and Applications
- 3D Scanogram – Point Cloud: A direct measurement output representing a digitized industrial object (the basis for P&ID). It provides an accurate representation of the plant’s geometry, making it highly useful for direct use in CAD or BIM software. The point cloud enables optimal design of new equipment within the existing environment.
- 2D/3D CAD Models, BIM: We produce 3D models of existing conditions, which our clients utilize for designing new installations and equipment. We standardize plans and models as required, ensuring they are compatible with the client’s software programs.
- Collision Detection and Analysis: By capturing a complete image of the existing environment and importing designed equipment, we perform collision detection analysis. Using the same method, we also simulate cargo transport through industrial facilities and, together with the client, determine the optimal route.
- Reverse Engineering (REE): From the actual physical object, we create a parametric or planar 3D model, along with workshop drawings of machine elements or prototypes, for use in CAD, CAM, and CAE systems.
- Virtual Reality (VR): Using 3D scan data and 360° photos, we develop interactive applications for viewing on various media devices, including VR headsets. This enables users to remotely enter an industrial facility, perform visual inspections, and read dimensions in a fully interactive environment.
Digitization and Digitalization of Industrial Facilities
We document the geometry of objects using 3DLS technology (3D Laser Scanning).
The digitized shape is transformed into 3D models enriched with information using BIM software tools and VR platforms. This includes equipment specifications, comment sections, P&ID drawings, isometric views, and other attributes tailored to specific users.
The practical application of such models is particularly evident in larger and more complex industrial plants, such as refineries, oil and gas storage facilities, large factories, offshore platforms, and energy facilities…
